What Makes A Good Writer?
The easy and honest answer is, I have no idea. Everyone is unique, and artists, especially so. We’re a bit “touched.” That’s why our position, even in the same company, is so unique. The same rules don’t apply. And a large part of any art (and indeed, we are artists) is inspiration. I know what gives me inspiration, but they are not likely to be the same things that inspire you. For some people, writing is a chore they would just rather not have, and for others, it can be an escape from the ordinary, the mundane. And for some others yet, it is just what they do. I fall into that group, as do most writers, I expect. We are not authors; we are not celebrated for bringing wondrous worlds to life.
