Welcome to Drunk On Writing!
“You must stay drunk on writing so reality cannot destroy you.” ~ Ray Bradbury
For some people, writing is a chore they would just rather not have, and for others, it can be an escape from the ordinary, the mundane. And for some others yet, it is just what they do. I fall into that group, as do most writers, I expect. We are not authors; we are not celebrated for bringing wondrous worlds to life. We are writers, that dedicated breed who are responsible for all the rest of the writing in the world.
My name is Robert, and I am a writer. My proof? I have owned this site for over a month two months now, and this is the first post. Who else is too busy to write on their own site, other than a fellow blogger? Don’t worry, I will be updating very frequently now.
However, I am good at what I do, and I know how to write about anything for profit. Because lets face it, that’s why I write. I have a talent for writing content that people like to read, and I get paid for it. Honestly, it’s like not even having a job.
I was in school to be a high school English teacher, and was approached to write for a small company on a very limited basis. I had never written for anyone other than teachers. I had no idea what I was doing. My first few writing assignments were on Jiu Jitsu, solar/wind power, and “losing belly fat fast”. Yeah, it was a fledgling company. But as they got bigger, the clients became more interesting, and my client and friend, Leo Saraceni, pushed me into bigger and better things. Eventually, I started writing copy for the company, as well as their clients blogs.
The company that gave me my start eventually hired me as a full member of the company, and I am now proud to be the head copywriter for Market & Convert, an online social media marketing company. So I will be talking about social media marketing, which is all a business blog is, as well as SEO tips, keywords, backlinks, etc. If you are in the business of writing for profit, I am about to be your new best friend!
At Drunk On Writing, I’ll teach you how to write about anything! And if you leave a comment and ask for something specific, I promise to cover that in my next post!
